Eighteen years ago a movement began to unite youth ministries across denominations and across this province.  This movement has seen continued growth and influence by bringing together world-class musicians, speakers, and organizations. Around 40,000 young people have attended YCNL since its inception. This movement has included:

  • Numerous gatherings including rallies, prayer events, and online simulcasts,
  • Two YC events in the Big Land of Labrador in 2011 and 2015,
  • Blessing local Food Banks each Thanksgiving,
  • Sponsorship of hundreds of children around the world,
  • Raising over $100,000 to build and resource the YC House children’s home at the Village of Hope in Lilongwe, Malawi.
  • Sending teams from across this province in 2008 to create the first YC event Malawi with over 14000 people attending,.
  • Giving over $28000 in 2016/2017 to bring clean drinking water to families in Cambodia.

All this has been possible because of youth and youth leaders who have caught the vision that together we can do something extraordinary that we could never do separately.  The potential of this movement has only been just tapped into but in order to tap into that new potential we need to take the next step in the journey of YCNL.

How will this happen? By partnering with youth, youth ministries, and youth organizations we will create a new structure that will help drive the ministry of YCNL to a new level, better equip youth and youth leaders as followers of Jesus Christ, and better mobilize a generation to bless their communities, impact their province, and to do their part as global citizens. The YC name (which simply has stood for Youth Conference) will not change but will be rebranded  to the Youth Collective Newfoundland and Labrador with four distinct parts: Conference and Events, Community Engagement, Leadership Development and Global Impact.

Conference and Events: YCNL as a conference will remain the catalyst for what will unfold throughout the year.  Our Thanksgiving Weekend conference still sees hundreds of students ministered to and mobilized through a creative and highly intentional youth and young adult event.  Beyond the conference YCNL hosts rallies, tours, and online events throughout the year.

Community Engagement: A key value of YCNL has always been and will continue to be the blessing of the conference host community and communities all over the province.  This will be accomplished through partnerships with the local Food Sharing Associations as well as community and church organizations. Community Engagement will also include our YCNL School Tours.  Through this  annual initiative in locales around our province, YCNL brings world-class, motivational speakers, in partnership with local schools and churches, to the students of our province. This initiative brings empowering content to thousands  of students each year, giving exponential reach beyond the YCNL conference.

Leadership Development:  A key area of development will be the investment into the leaders of our province.  Through the Imagine Conference, Youth Alpha Canada, and now the Global Leadership Summit, YCNL will help our leaders grow spiritually and in their potential to become agents of change and architects of the future of this province.

Global Impact: The arms of YCNL stretch around the globe through child sponsorship through partnerships with incredible organizations to improving the health, nutrition, education, and spiritual lives of children and youth across the world.  Through YCNL giving this movement has supported global opportunities in the Village of Hope (Malawi, Africa), YC Malawi, and the Life Campaign (clean water initiative).  Beyond giving, YCNL has sent many missions teams from Nain, Labrador to Lilongwe, Malawi. YCNL is, indeed, a global movement.

Stay tuned for more information on the new and expanded vision for the YOUTH COLLECTIVE NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR and how you can be involved. Let’s be a movement across the denominations, youth ministries, and the communities of our province and through the youth of our province to spread the love of God and mobilize a generation for the glory of God.
