98 Hours to Surrender!

By October 1, 2012 No Comments

98 hours to go before YC2012…It’s hard to believe October is here let alone YC…but it is so buckle up and get ready for an incredible ride this week!

Gen 22:1 “Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called. “Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.””ycnl12-800x600
In thinking of this Surrender theme there are not many greater examples than in the story of Abraham. This is a ancient text with many modern day lessons for us. Abraham is given a dream, a promise, that God was about to start a movement through a very unlikely person in a very unlikely land. What I love about the faith of this patriarch is that when God comes to test his faith Abraham’s response is simple and beautiful: “Here I am”. What a great posture to take as we walk these final days and hours into YC. Here I am…
  • ready to fulfill the ministry area in which I have been placed!
  • ready to do above and beyond even if it stretches me!
  • ready to intercede and invest in this generation!
  • ready to assume this surrendered posture for the rest of my life!
You see SURRENDER is all about the “here I am” moments God places in our path. The old adage is still true today…God isn’t looking as much for our ability but our availability.
With 98 hours to go let’s be ready to tell God with faith and expectancy: “HERE I AM!!!!!”
