Game Day – T-minus 12 hours

Let’s journey one final time to Genesis and into Abraham’s back story!
Genesis 22IMG_1019 15 Then the angel of the LORD called again to Abraham from heaven. 16 “This is what the LORD says: Because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that 17 I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants* beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies. 18 And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me.”

Today’s final P-word is PROMISE. After a journey of SURRENDER God declares to his servant Abraham that He would bless him and that through him He would bless the nations. Now there’s a promise! But we are no different…God has given us many promises in His Word…but could the blessings God promises us be even greater? We serve a God who has promised us His PRESENCE (“I am with you always” Matt. 28:20)”, His POWER (“and you shall receive power” Acts 1:8), and His PURPOSES (“For I know the plans I have for you…to give you a hope and a future” Jer. 29:11). What more do we need on this game day?

We’ve probably all made promises that we’ve broken. I have. God’s promises are yes and amen. Solid. Firm. Faithful. No wavering.

This game day we will walk not in our preparation, not in our talents, and not in our skills. This day we walk in His blessing and in His promises. YC has always been His and will always be His. We surrender any hint of ownership or pride and we boast in Him today! Some might think year thirteen might be a unlikely number…I think…it’s blessed!

For His Glory…Alone!
