Countdown To Launch: T-Minus 1

By October 7, 2016 No Comments

It’s the day of the launch. The launch director tells everyone, directors, team members, and astronauts that checks are completed, all requirements for launch have been completed, and they are ready to go. Leckart’s article describes the end of the beginning:

“NASA’s test director takes over the countdown at 9 minutes. From here on, only high-level issues, like a no-go from the NASA administrator, can ground the vehicle.”

Launch is a go.  This is the end of the preparations. This is beginning of something new. There are new heights to climb, new planets to explore, new missions to be launched all over again.  This is the Trekkie Gospel. We go boldly where no one has gone before…well…almost no one. Our God is already out there, waiting, waiting for us to join him in the mission.

You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! Psalm 139:5-6

And our timeless mission:

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

Ready? Sense the excitement. Feel the rumble. Hear the roar. Experience the power. We have lift-off.
