26 Hours Until Surrender!

Wow…we’re getting close…and we are in great shape with preparations in full swing! Great job everyone on a full day’s work!

Here’s today’s thought as we pick up Genesis 22 again.
10 And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice. 11 At that moment the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Yes,” Abraham replied. “Here I am!”  12 “Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.” 13 Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son. 14 Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the Lord will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

Abraham’s faith is so deep that the knife is ready to plunge. That’s really unbelievable in itself! At that exact moment God speaks and I love Abraham’s response again…”Here I am!” He’s done everything he could do, all the preparations, all the steps, all the obedience and there’s nothing left…but God intervenes and PROVIDES. Today’s P-word is just that: PROVISION. I don’t know about you but I’m glad that when I’m expended and feel I have nothing left to give, when life is just crazy busy or when it feels my world is spinning out of control, it’s in those moments THE LORD WILL PROVIDE! In fact, it’s His name: Yahweh-Yireh. So what do you need today? Rest, strength, hope, peace, comfort, healing, vision, joy…whatever it is appeal to the one who is THE PROVIDER.  Knowing that around 2500 people will be around here tomorrow night I know I’m completely powerless to provide what they need. But I know one who is able to meet “every need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. When we are at our end He is at His beginning. SURRENDER to our PROVIDER today. He will be exactly who He says He is for YOU and for THEM!
